Birthdays that fall on a Saturday are just so much more exciting than those that fall on a work day, don’t you think?!? I was thrilled to celebrate my birthday this year on Saturday, May 7 as it meant I could enjoy the whole day with Ben and organise seeing friends for a long and leisurely lunch.
I was dying to wear the beautiful top that Ben had purchased for me as part of my birthday present, my first item of maternity wear! Rendered in the most exquisite duck egg blue colour, this 3/4 sleeve dolman-style top is from Ripe Maternity. It is a top I would wear not pregnant, so I feel this piece is great value-for-money as it is not only trans-seasonal but will transcend the many phases of my pregnancy!
The weather was a tad inclement (which delighted me!) but as we were sitting inside for lunch, I felt assured I could get away with a skirt for the occasion. I wore a pull on, stretch navy Metalicus skirt – pale blue and dark blue are an absolute match made in heaven. I accessorised with neutral taupe wedges and this stunning morganite Jan Logan necklace (available here), a birthday gift from several years ago from my always generous husband.
Whilst this top is no longer available for sale, I am loving these other Ripe tops (click to shop!). I may have just opened Pandora’s Box…
I had the most magnificent birthday (lunch at The Boulevard was amazing) and I was very spoiled by the ones I love. It was just an added bonus that I felt glamorous in my gorgeous new top!!!
