Lyn Devon, A.L.C and a red lip

If you have never heard of New York designer Lyn Devon, you are doing yourself a great disservice! She has been described as designing “exuberant American luxury sportswear that is polished but playful [with] clean lines, impeccable construction, innovative fabrics and a bold colour palette”. I would use the following to characterise her design aesthetic:

luxurious and quality-driven;

feminine, ladylike and sophisticated;

timeless and classic, yet modern;

comfortable and elegant;

special and exclusive.

So pretty much the perfect designer? I might be a bit biased, given I am utterly in love with her and her pieces are some of the most prized possessions in my wardrobe, but I challenge you to wear a Lyn Devon piece and think otherwise. Here, I am wearing her double-faced Loro Piana cashmere jacket in mustard with an A.L.C leopard print skirt, Doo.Ri blush cashmere knit and the black Roberto Del Carlo pumps (from here). Everything I am wearing (aside from jewellery) was bought on eBay.

It has pockets! Deep, silk lined and cosy like mittens

The jacket is a version that appeared in Lyn Devon’s Fall 2011 RTW collection (mine has the soft leather self-belt and is hip – not thigh – length).

I am not a big lipstick wearer – I personally think you either tend to be an eye person or a lip person when wearing make-up – but I think the red lip really stands out with this outfit. I mean, leopard and red lips were just made for one another (look no further than the sassy Sally Spectra from B&B)!! The lipstick is by Fusion Beauty, and is their Lip Plumping Pencil in Glam.

Finally, to match the soft blush colour of the Doo.Ri knit, I wore my Derek Lam “Felix” sunglasses in Nude (sold here, sadly not on sale). I find I cannot leave the house without a pair of sunglasses. No matter what the weather, I wear sunglasses out! Do you?

So tell me, do you own a piece of Lyn Devon? Do you love her aesthetic as much as I do?
