So I have been keeping a close eye on the Net-a-porter sale for the last few weeks, building my wish-list, waiting for the real bargain shopping to commence (as I am wont to do). They are now at their ‘clearance phase’ of the sale, with many items at 80% off. I am literally checking in every hour to watch what has sold from my wish-list (and trust me, things are selling fast, as you’d be mad not to snap pieces up when they are reduced so drastically). I don’t think I can hang out until the last days (where they take another 25% off the reduced prices) because what I want will most likely be gone! Quelle horreur!
So I am seriously contemplating one giant splurge or several small splurges. What do you reckon (and no, that question is not directed at you, dear husband, for I already know the answer!!)?
I am literally obsessing over this Preen by Thornton Bregazzi dress. It is from their Pre-Fall 2014 collection, which was inspired by actress Tippi Hedren. It has the most flattering neckline and I am absolutely loving the full skirt and navy with the pop of orange. I want it so badly! Perhaps even more so, knowing it was $1,831 and is now $366.
Other pieces that have caught my eye, that are a little less expensive include this Vivienne Westwood Anglomania viscose knit dress, that had been $312 and is now $156. The colour is exquisite, it is very office appropriate and the draping would skim a multitude of sins!
I love these two J.Crew pieces – the Tippi Merino wool sweater (isn’t the colour DIVINE?!) and the Très Bien linen-jersey t-shirt (who doesn’t love a little French accent?). The sweater had been $126 and is now $63 and the t-shirt had been $82 and is now $33.
I am also quite taken by this Missoni + V&A set of three palladium-plated woven necklaces. It makes quite an arty statement (instead of the current on-going obsession [full disclosure: to which I am not averse but I admit I am a little over] with oversized crystal bauble bling) and is not overly trend-driven. The necklace had been $400 and it is now $80.
