Sussan + Sophia Kokosalaki = rock chick?

Yesterday, I featured a Diane von Furstenberg top that I purchased from eBay with a host of other items. The top I am wearing in today’s post was amongst those items and is another pleasantly surprising purchase (for those who are eBay shoppers, you will know this feeling. When you cannot try on or feel or see the pieces you are purchasing, some buys end up being so much more than what you anticipated). The top is by Sophia Kokosalaki, a Greek fashion designer based in London renowned for her magnificent wedding dresses (check them out here and here) and her Grecian influences (draping, folding, asymmetry, fluidity). I paired it with a stretch knit pencil skirt from Sussan, J.Crew black leather peep-toe, cut-out, lace up booties and black L’Wren Scott sunglasses.

You can see from the pictures that the top has that Grecian drape Sophia’s clothing is renowned for. I particularly love the pintucked, draped and ruched sleeve. So very flattering! The fabric is a viscose/silk which doesn’t crease or crush and feels wonderful against the skin.

I have several skirts like this I purchased from Sussan about 18 months ago. They are all below the knee with a small back slit and are made from a firm stretch cotton jersey that just slips on. I LOVE these skirts and they are in high rotation in my wardrobe because it never matters what size I’m feeling, they mold to me and give and hug and flatter. I purchased the skirts when Sussan had a 50% off the marked price sale. I don’t think I paid more than $20 for each skirt. The shoes, top and sunglasses were all from eBay.

Both my husband and two work colleagues commented that my look today had a ‘rock chic’ vibe – perhaps it was the ‘devil-may-care’ attitude my hair was giving, the punky leather cut-out lace-up booties, the black silky top, the baroque print on the skirt. It wasn’t intentional but hey! I’ll take it!

Today, my hair was behaving beautifully and I had to make the most of it! I credit Living Proof’s Full Thickening Cream for the volume and movement. If only it would look this good every day…
